SUMMER’S HERE!
What does the word
summer meant to you?
For some it means
vacation, relaxation and family gatherings.
Some look forward to it and some don’t like the heat.
The Bible says, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity
under heaven.” Ecclesiates 3:1
Summer is a busy time with
lots of things to do. We here at Waynesburg
have VBS, the pork chop dinner/fireworks get together for June 29th and other activities
to look forward to this
summer.
One of the hardest things for me to do during the summer is to not forget
it is not about me. We go on our annual
family boating trip, take bike rides and do a lot of things that I like to do. It is easy to let God slide when I’m
having fun. The one thing that helps
me to remember Him is to praise Him.
Whether I’m sitting
on the boat at Dale Hollow Lake, riding through the State Parks on our
motorcycle, coming
to Bible study or sitting in a pew on Sunday morning, I see His creation and I praise
Him for allowing me to enjoy being in His presence.
I wonder sometimes why God made all of the things of summer for us to enjoy and
then I remember Acts 17:27, “God did this so that men
would seek Him and perhaps
reach out for Him and find Him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
This summer look for God in all
that you do. Take the time to “Be still and know that He is God.”
Psalm 46:10 Give Him praise. Invite Him along and acknowledge His
presence with you whatever you do this
summer.
Enjoying Christ's
presence,
Dan Wenning
