Forever Young
On October 25 we had a mystery trip. We went to Clifty Falls State Park and ate at the Clifty Falls Inn. The meal was just delicious and we had such good company. This restaurant overlooks the Ohio River and is a beautiful setting. There were 14 who went. After we ate several of us went to the falls and walked down some of the trails. The weather was nice and some of the trees had changed colors.
On November 15 we will have our Thanksgiving
supper. It will be held at the church house at 6:00 p.m. Meats and table service will be provided, so you will need to bring a couple of dishes to pitch-in for the meal. I will need a couple of volunteers to bring drinks (tea, soft drinks, lemonade, etc.) It is helpful to know approximately how many will be coming in
order to place the order for meat, so please let me know if at all possible. If you are not able to commit but find at the last minute that you can come, come anyway. There is always plenty of food, and you're sure to have a great time. We would welcome anyone who hasn't been involved in Forever Young to come and enjoy this wonderful group.
Our Thanksgiving dinner was held on November 15 at the church with 32 present. It was such a nice
evening with delicious food (of course!) and a game to finish out the evening. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful food and for everyone’s help in setting up and cleaning up afterward. We had several new
people at this dinner and we want you to feel welcome to come every month. We were so happy to have you with us.
Our Christmas party will be held on December 20th at 6:00pm at WCC. Subway sandwiches and chips will be provided. You are asked to bring a salad and / or dessert to share with everyone. I could use
volunteers to bring soft drinks/tea/hot cider.
After our meal, Helen has planned a couple of games, one of which involves a gift exchange. Everyone is asked to bring a gift valued at approx. $10 (ladies bring a gift for a woman, and men a gift for a man). This is a different game than one we’ve used in the past. Everyone really appreciates Helen’s games and we thank her for organizing them.
This is our last meeting of 2007 and I want to thank everyone for their support and help with each month’s activities. Many of you have given suggestions for future outings and I’ve made a list and am working to include many of those ideas in the upcoming year. Please keep those suggestions coming. This group is such a joy to work with.
